The Plan as it Stands...
Welcome.
I'm an old school technology fan with a day gig in right wing corporate graphic design. I'm also a hand drawer with some commercial freelance digital illustration contracts. I started a "sketch blog" a few years back but started struggling with stats and my own ego so it spiraled and my posts became too over-thought and over-worked and, although still an outlet, it didn't seem wholesome or fulfilling...
This is The Simplify man. This is the Raw. This will be anonymous (means I'm disinclined to acquiesce names mothers gave). I want to start this with a group of people, some I know, maybe some I don't. 5. 8. 10. I want to sit at a virtual round table and bounce ideas. I want the feeling of competition, but not for quality or who's the sickest, just for drive and motivation. Maybe it'll work. Maybe I'll be the only author and just vent in ink. Comments? Feedback? Smack talk? Thats them.
Pens. Brushes. Markers. Stamps. Stencils. Don't give a shit.
Just no prelims. No undo. No pencils (I LIKE pencils but they've got those little pussy erasers on the ass end don't they). And I can say no digital, but tha's just fookin thick isn't it. They've got to be posted on the interweb...
I'm going to send a few invites out.
See who needs an outlet.
See who thinks they're "too busy".
See who wants to Don't Think with a sketchbook or loose paper instead of with the TV or the internet or a smartphone for an hour or two a week.
It's not a portfolio. It's not a business card or resume padding.
